Deadline to Pay Taxes
In Coffee County, AL, taxes are delinquent after December 31st. Penalities and interest begin accruing on January 1.

Tax Sale Information
Date of Sale
The Tax Sale is held the 1st or 2nd Monday and 1st and 2nd Tuesday in April at 10:00 a.m., CDT, at the Coffee County Courthouse, in Enterprise on Monday and Elba on Tuesday.

Important Dates to Remember

  • October 1....Real Property Taxes Due
  • January 1...Taxes Delinquent; Payments on or after this date will be charged late fees -$5 delinquent fee + 12% annual interest
  • Month of February...Court notices mailed out
  • 3 consecutive weeks in March...Delinquent Property newspaper advertisement published
  • First (1st) or Second (2nd) Monday in April...Tax Sale Enterprise Courthouse
  • First (1st) or Second (2nd) Tuesday in April...Tax Sale Elba Courthouse

Bidding
To bid in the tax sale, you must register with the Revenue Commissioner's office no later than 9:30am, Central Standard Time, on the day of the tax sale.

Cancellation
Tax sale may be cancelled without penalty up to ten (10) days after sale.
